My Passion

“Poetry is thoughts that breathe, and words that burn”- Thomas Gray

Poetry is my passion and I have been writing for years. A great piece of my work have been published in my High School’s Literary and Art book called Nova for my poem Think of Me. In the high school year book’s final pages, I wrote a poem for the entire senior class which is titled Good Morning Seniors. As you can see, I write every chance I get. I never wrote a poem for the acknowledgment, I write it because it is my passion. My poetry has received the Editor’s Choice Award twice.

While in college, I continued to write poetry. During the Educational Opportunity Program's (EOP) closing ceremony, I performed a peace called Every One Prevails. I have also been published in Rider University’s first African American Literary Journal called On Fire!! As a Freshman at Rider University, I have two poems that were published which are titled Tragic Hero and The Fire Pit. I, one day, hope to write my own anthology and to be a historic writer, similar to my favorite poet Langston Hughes.
